在石化能源價格高漲與全球共同致力減緩氣候暖化行動中，加強開發生質能源與積極利用廢棄材料轉化為再生資源，已成為各國政府能源部門之重要推動議題。在目前多種生質能源中，木質顆粒(Wood pellet)之使用已成為歐盟會員國家在生質能源利用(Biomass utilization)之重要選項之一。歐盟國家向來以應用科技推動環保與善用能源著稱，木質顆粒在近十年來得以被歐盟國家所採納並加以推廣應用，是具有何等優勢？
